Martha Sweet, Administrator
Martha Sweet, RN, MPS, CNHA, is the Administrator of Grace Plaza. Having started her administrative
career here, she has a long and successful history with the facility. Following her initial tenure
as Assistant Administrator in 1980, Mrs. Sweet served as Administrator of several other facilities.
Well known and regarded by her colleagues as a progressive and contemporary thinker, Mrs. Sweet has
built her reputation on putting the care of people first. She is a voice for change, for education
and for accountability within the long term care industry. In 2004, she was elected President of the
New York Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Administrators. She has also served as a member
of the NYS Board of Nursing Home Examiners. Her activities extend to the local community of healthcare
organizations and, without question, to helping Grace Plaza realize its mission and vision.
Myles Gombert, Medical Director
Myles E. Gombert, M.D., F.A.C.P. joined the Medical Staff of Grace Plaza in 2005 and was also appointed
its Medical Director. Dr. Gombert is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and
has worked extensively with our senior population for many years. He is an attending physician at the
North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the New York
University School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a fellow of
the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He is also a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Gombert has long contributed to the medical literature and has published many clinical investigations
in peer reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Gombert is committed to providing the highest quality of care to our residents and supervising a
medical staff that is caring, communicative, and clinically informed about the most current medical
information. He is also dedicated to the ever-changing health care environment while maintaining the
models of treatment that have made Grace Plaza a facility of choice for the rehabilitation and long
term care needs of the communities we serve on the North Shore of Long Island.
