What's New
Grace Plaza Pathways Introduces New Programs Grace Plaza Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is pleased to announce the addition of new programs to its already highly successful and outstanding sub-acute care unit, Pathways. The expanded 7-Day Orthopedic Rehabilitation Program provides a comprehensive inpatient program. All patients receive individual treatment plans designed specifically for their needs. Grace Plaza’s reputation as a leader in short term rehabilitation is again leading the way in improving the level of care that all patients should expect. We provide a specific daily calendar of treatment across a complete 7-day/week regiment where indicated by our orthopedic surgeons and overseen by physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians. The Total Joint Replacement program follows established protocols, which are uniquely tailored to the patient's individual needs. Many of the younger and physically active rehabilitation patients are concerned about their return to their normal lifestyle following surgery for joint replacement. Activities such as modified golf, tetherball, kickball and bowling offer them familiarity and fun while providing the reassurance that they are working toward a goal of recovery. These therapeutic modalities use modified versions of favorite sports activities. The Vascular Rehabilitation program includes amputee and prosthetic management training to decrease phantom limb sensation/pain and help patients become more comfortable with their new body image. Our on-site staff work closely with the community based Orthopedic or Vascular Surgeon and prosthetic company to prepare patients for new limbs. Patient and family support groups help amputees and their family's share feeling and concerns with others experiencing the same losses. Counseling is provided for patients and families to enable them to accept new body images and necessary changes in lifestyles.
Wound Care, Diabetic and Pain management are an integral part of the Vascular Rehab program and our dedicated
team works with the patient to facilitate a speedy recovery and return to the community. Grace Plaza welcomes Academia Grace Plaza has traditionally been a haven for students seeking to do internships in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Dietetics. This past year has seen the demand for placements from various colleges and universites increase dramatically. Being at the forefront of the industry has made Grace Plaza, "the place" to learn about rehabilitation, social work, dietetics and psychological services. We welcome the continued interaction with students and the mutual benefits derived from the collaboration. |
